Panasonic Infotainment System Showing a Mirrored or Reversed Rear Camera Image

Panasonic Infotainment systems for Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks have two known camera-related issues that can appear on units produced in the second half of 2026. One is a software bug that mirrors the rear camera image. The other is a wiring problem on a small batch of camera adapters that prevents the rear camera from displaying at all.

1. Mirrored or Reversed Rear Camera Image (Software Issue)

A limited number of Panasonic Infotainment systems shipped with a software bug that affects the camera display. When a rear-facing camera is connected, the image shown on the screen is a mirror image of what the driver expects to see.

This issue only impacts the camera view. If your truck does not have cameras installed, you can ignore it.

Solution: Install the official software update from Panasonic.

2. No Rear Camera Image (Wiring Issue with PP207341 Adapter)

Some PP207341 camera adapters were built with an incorrect pin-out in the small white camera signal connector that plugs into the back of the Panasonic "silver box" (the stereo).

Symptoms:
  • Rear camera is plugged into the rear input on the adapter
  • Rear camera is enabled in the Infotainment menu
  • Screen lights up and shows the word “Rear” in the top-left corner, but no camera image appears

A common temporary workaround is to move the rear camera cable to the input labeled “Right.” The image will usually appear (though it may still be mirrored until the software update is applied).

This wiring problem has been corrected. New, properly wired camera adapters are now available.

Recommended fix if you plan to use multiple cameras:
Replace the adapter with a corrected unit:
